Since our family’s arrival in Oregon in 1997, I’ve been employed as a case manager at PacificSource Health Plans. Group health case management affords me the variety and diversity of patients and problem-solving that I thrived on in my clinical career as an emergency department nurse. My first position as a case manager was in 1990 in a
multi-disciplinary pain management clinic, and since that time I’ve worked exclusively in case management, gaining experience in disability and rehabilitation care management systems. I gained my C.C.M. in 1995, and am currently focused on attaining Health Coaching and Chronic Care (C.C.P.) certificates.
Over the past three years I’ve participated in four mission trips to Central America as part of team of physicians and health care providers bringing medical care to the indigenous peoples of Guatemala and El Salvador. I’m on a lifelong journey to learn Spanish, the mother of two sons, and enjoy gardening, camping and am a new knitter.
